Barcelona and Dynamo Kyiv, would be keen on reversing their fortunes in the UEFA Champions League as both sides lock horns at the Nou Camp on Wednesday evening.
The Blaugrana did the double against the Ukrainians in last season's UEFA Champions League group stage, stretching their winning run against these opponents to four games. Would we see Dynamo Kyiv upset the scales this time around ?
Highly-anticipated encounter on the cards
Barcelona find themselves in unfamiliar territory in the UEFA Champions League group stage as they currently sit at the bottom of the standings after two games. The 3-0 loss on Matchday one against Bayern Munich was very much expected, however, no one saw Benfica comfortably dealing with the Catalans on matchday two. Darwin Nunez's brace and a Rafa Silva strike saw off Koeman's troops as the home crowd in Lisbon celebrated a famous victory. Although it has been the same old story in the league, they did manage to get their third win in the LaLiga Santander with a 3-1 victory against Valencia. Fati, Depay and Coutinho were on the scoresheet to make sure of all three points for the Catalans and ease some pressure off Ronald Koeman. Another loss here, however, would certainly leave the Dutchman's job hanging by a thread.
Having managed a point at home against Benfica in the inaugural game of the UEFA Champions League 2021/2022 season, the Ukrainian giants were humbled in matchday two by the Bavarians. Lewandowski, Sane, Gnabry and Choupo-Moting were all on the scoresheet as Nagelsmann celebrated a 5-0 win. Dynamo Kyiv made their return to winning ways in the Ukrainian top-flight with a 4-1 victory against PFC Lviv and they might just need a performance that surpasses that to get the better of Barcelona in Spain.
