Manchester United vs LASK Predictions, Betting Tips, and Match Preview. 05-08-20

The final chapter of the 19/20 season starts on Wednesday as we kick off the knockout stages of the Europa League. Manchester United welcome LASK to the Old Trafford as the Red Devils look to progress further in the competition. They go head-to-head from 19:00 GMT with both teams looking to pick up positive results on the night.

Manchester United emerged victorious in the first leg as they thrashed the Austrian giants 5-0 at the Raiffeisen Arena. Odion Ighalo, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood, and Andreas Pereira put the Red Devils into a five-goal cushion much to the delight of Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United will be brimming with confidence after they successfully qualified for next season’s Champions League. The job was sealed on the final day as they beat rivals Leicester City. Bruno Fernandes kept his cool as he slotted in the penalty after Johnny Evans had fouled Anthony Martial with 19 minutes to go. Jesse Lingard added the second with his first league goal of the season in the 98th minute. With that win, Manchester United complete an unlikely comeback in the race for the top four as they finished above Chelsea and Leicester City.

LASK looked like they were on their way to secure only their second league title after they finished top of the league standings in the Austrian Bundesliga. The disappointment came in the end as they fell off the hurdle in the playoff rounds.

Former boss Valerien Ismael and his men did very well before the Coronavirus break as they managed to build up a significant eight-point lead in the league. Upon the resumption, the gap vanished only four matches into the playoff rounds as they picked up only one point from a possible twelve.

The tie looks all but over, however, LASK will be bidding to give their fans reasons to cheer as they go for the win on Wednesday night.

Odion Ighalo and Daniel James are both backed to start Wednesday’s game - Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are fully expected to start from the bench. However, Luke Shaw is anticipated to miss out via injury thereby giving Brandon Williams the green light. The away side don’t have any fresh injury woes thanks to the enforced break.

Manchester United vs LASK prediction: 3-0

Manchester United have a splendid record against Austrian sides as they’re unbeaten against them in all European competitions. They’re fully expected to add to their unbeaten record with a clean sheet victory on Wednesday night.
