Chelsea vs Southampton Predictions and Betting Tips

A spot in the EFL Cup Quarterfinals as up for grabs and this Tuesday, Chelsea or Southampton would etch their name onto said spot pending Tuesday's result at Stamford Bridge. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.
Late goals from Werner and Chilwell made sure of a Chelsea victory when both sides went at each other in the Premier League early this month. The Saints have been tough for the Blues to deal with in recent times with Chelsea failing to win either of the games prior to the 3-1 victory. Would we see Hasenhuttl pick up a shock victory ?
Blues in search of yet another five-star performance
Chelsea were simply too good over the weekend as we saw them put seven unanswered goals past Norwich City in the league last weekend. Mason Mount went home with his first Chelsea match ball in a game where we also saw Chilwell, Hudson-Odoi and Reece James make the net bulge. This would be Chelsea's fourth win in all competitions and we've now seen Tuchel's charges win all of their games in the 2021/2022 season asides from the losses to Man City and Juventus. Chelsea was stretched pretty thing by Aston Villa in the previous round as we only saw them win via a penalty shootout- Reece James with the deciding penalty- after playing a 1-1 draw in after 90 minutes and as such, we expect them to strive to be more dominant this time around.
The Saints, on the other hand, were held by Burnley in the Premier League over the weekend with both sides shaking hands for a share of the spoils. Hasenhuttl's side having won the previous weekend head unbeaten in their last two matches as we saw them get the better of Leeds United via a solitary goal from Armando Borja. Similar to their opponents, they also book themselves a spot in the EFL Round of 16 stages via a penalty shootout against Sheffield United. The games only get harder from this point onwards, however, a win here would certainly be a huge step if we're to see them pick up their first-ever EFL Cup trophy.
