Having endured a tough week, the Blues welcome Leeds United to London this weekend with the aim of arresting their recent dip in form. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.
Leeds United played out a 0-0 stalemate with Chelsea at the Elland Road but lost to them at the Stamford Bridge and with just one win in 10 meetings against the Blues, they would be keen on using Chelsea's recent slump to their advantage to pick up their first win in this fixture since 2003.
Tuchel's troops at sixes and sevens
Chelsea's early season form has been slowly dwindling and it's looking a little more profound ad the Blues surrenders top spot in the league and in UEFA Champions League as well. The Blues were dealt a hammer blow at the London Stadium last weekend in a 3-2 victory for David Moyes' troops who strengthened their claim for the top four. This allowed Liverpool and then Manchester City to move ahead of the reigning European champions with the Merseyside and Manchester outfit in second and first positions respectively. What's more, Chelsea's bid to retain their Champions League title seems to have gotten a bit harder as they blew a lead on two separate occasions in their final group game against Zenit, allowing Juventus to qualify as group winners. As such, Chelsea is in need of top performance to, at least, keep up with the current top two sides in the English top-flight.
Leeds United head into this game in 15th position in the English top-flight following three wins, seven draws and five losses this season. This poor set of results could be attributed to their long injury list, however, Bielsa had done a pretty good job of keeping them at length with the relegation zone as they're currently sitting ahead of Burnley who sit in 18th place. In their most recent game at home against Brentford, Patrick Bamford, having missed almost three months of the English top-flight, came on to secure a point with a last-gasp equalizer to send the Leeds faithful wild.
