Atalanta vs Sampdoria Predictions and Betting Tips

Atalanta, keen on resurrecting their domestic form, welcome Sampdoria to the Gewiss Stadium in Monday's solitary Serie A matchup. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.

Atalanta were comfortable winners when both sides clashed in the reverse fixture back in October. Would we see them do the double against their opponents ?

Le Dea looking to arrest slump in domestic form

Atalanta, at some point, was in the Scudetto discussion but that is now a thing of the past with the Bergamo-based side down in 5th position. Although a spot in next season's champions league is still in the cards, they would need to work incredibly hard with 4th-placed Juventus being six points ahead whilst playing a game more. Despite their struggles in the league, they excelled in their Europa League playoff tie with Olympiacos beating the Greek-based outfit 5-1 across both legs. Now it is then left to see whether they can use this as a platform to pick up only the second league win since the turn of the year.

Times have also not been kind to Sampdoria with the side managing just six points from a possible 21 since the turn of the year. However, they look like a side on the ascension given that they head to Bergamo with two wins in their last three league games. A brace from 39-year old Fabio Quagliarella made sure of all three points in their most recent game at home against Empoli- a win that shot them up to 14th on the log. Would we see them secure yet another positive result ?

Atalanta vs Sampdoria Prediction: 2-1

Atalanta have suffered quite some drop in form, at least domestically, but they're still a threat going forward just like they showed us in the Europa League. Sampdoria has had issued away from home recently, losing all of their last three games on the road and although they should give Atalanta a good workout, we're backing Gasperini and Co. to come out on top.
