Italy and Switzerland go at each other in the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers this Friday with both sides locked level on 14 points in Group C. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.

Although Italy emerged victors in a 3-0 victory against the Swiss en route to European glory last summer, four of the last five meetings between both teams have ended in stalemates. As such, it is then left to see whether the Swiss can once again hold on to a draw or maybe upset the scales with a win this time around.

Italy had a glorious summer, beating England in the final of the European championship to lift the coveted cup. We saw them get back to winning ways by beating Lithuania 5-0, however, those dropped points mean that they're level with the Swiss at the summit of the standings who only trail on goal difference. Mancini and his charges were in action in the UEFA Nations League finals in last month's international break but could only secure a 3rd place finish after losing to Spain in the semis. They're back in Qualifiers action this Friday and we expect them looking to book themselves a place in the showpiece event in Qatar next year.

Switzerland, just like their opponents, also had a decent run in the European championship, one which included them beating the world champions in the last 16 stages before losing to Friday's opponents in the quarterfinals. A run of four points from their last four world cup qualifiers games puts them level on points with the group leaders. This means that a shock victory for them this Friday could mean they secure the automatic qualification spot for themselves. However, this would be easier said than done given that they very much should have lost in the 0-0 stalemate they played against Italy recently.
