Real Salt Lake vs LAFC Predictions and Betting Tips
Following the cancellation of MLS matches scheduled to feature on Sunday, American football fans will be treated to one solitary game on Monday. The Rio Tinto Stadium is the stage for this one as Real Salt Lake take on LAFC. Both sides will be keen on getting back to winning ways following disappointing results last time out.
This match is expected to be nothing but intriguing given that both sides are stuck on 18 points. LAFC, however, has been the more entertaining side scoring 32 goals compared to their opponent's 19. The away side are also heading into this game with a superior head-to-head record having won five of the last seven meetings. The most recent one, however, ended in a comfortable win for Salt Lake. Will they make it two wins from two against their opponents?
Salt Lake targeting the playoffs spot
Salt Lake is heading into this one just outside the playoffs spot in the Western Conference. Having finished third in the Western Conference last season, Freddy Juarez and his troops haven't managed to put out similar performances this term. However, with lots of matches still left to play, you wouldn't count them out from achieving that same feat.
They played out a goalless draw away at Minnesota United in a game in which the Salt Lake goalie produced an inspiring display. Andrew Putna made a total of seven saves all through the 90 minutes to earn his side a precious point.
Season to forget for the LAFC supporters
LAFC, just like their opponents, are a long way from where they were last season- maybe even further. Bob Bradley and his troops blazed through the league, eventually topping the table by a whopping 16 points. This was mainly due to the contribution of 2019 MVP Carlos Vela. However, it hasn't been the same case this season with the Los Angeles based outfit struggling for form.
They were, once again, on the losing side of things in their previous game at home to San Jose Earthquakes. The home side started the game brightly and rightfully took the lead on the stroke of half time through Mark-Anthony Kaye. However, a late rally from the away side broke the LAFC supporters hearts as the away side registered only their third win of the season with two goals in the final 10 minutes.
Salt Lake vs LAFC Team News
Justin Meram picked up a knock in their previous game and is rated doubtful for this one.
Salt Lake possible starting XI:
Putna; Herrera, Silva, Onouha, Glad; Ruiz, Kreilach; Chang, Rusnak, Ramiez; Martinez
LAFC possible starting XI:
Sisiniega; Palacios, Segura, Jakovic, Blessing; Kaye, Atuesta, Cifuentes; Rossi, Rodriguez, Wright-Phillips
Salt Lake vs LAFC Prediction: 2-1
The home side will be confident heading into this one after winning the previous meeting 3-0. Bob Bradley and his boys, on the other hand, haven't been the team they once were given their abysmal performance this campaign. They haven't recorded a single draw since the league restarted so you can bet on them to win or lose. As a result, we will side with the home team on this one to narrowly take the three points.
