Liverpool vs Milan Predictions and Betting Tips
We're set for a huge clash this Wednesday as two European giants in Liverpool and AC Milan go head-to-head in the UEFA Champions League. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.
With 13 UCL titles between both sides, we have European Royalty go against each other this Wednesday. Liverpool and AC Milan have only met twice in this competition before. The Reds' miracle of Istanbul in 2005 and I Rossonnei returning the favour two years later. On both occasions, either side lifted the Champions League trophy.
Massive six-pointer on the cards
Liverpool head into this Tuesday's matchup having managed three wins in their first four Premier League matches. Last time out, their 3-0 victory away at Leeds United took them joint top with Chelsea and Man United. It is also to be noted that the Reds have managed three clean sheets in those four games and have conceded just one goal since they first kicked a ball this season- the van Dijk effect. With Atletico Madrid and Porto also in this same group, the Reds would be keen on a flying start to their European campaign as none of the away matches is expected to be a walk in the park.
This would be AC Milan's first run in the UEFA Champions League group stages since the 2013/2014 season. In their best domestic season in over a decade, they managed a second-place finish in the Italian Serie A thereby booking themselves a place amongst Europe's top clubs. It is to be noted that they head into this game unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions, a run which culminated just last weekend in a 2-0 victory against Lazio. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was back on the pitch and back amongst the goals as the big Swede netted the second goal to put the game beyond their opponent's reach. With this Tuesday's game expected to be a tougher one, it is then left to see how they can still handle the pressure of being in the Champions League.
