One solitary game is to be played on Friday in the Australian Hyundai A-League as Western United take on Western Sydney Wanderers. The Jubilee Stadium is the stage for this feisty encounter which is slated to kickoff from 09:30 GMT, with both teams gunning for all three points.
Both teams are currently on the same points with the home team just edging the away side on goal difference. Wester United are heading into this game after a loss last time out against Newcastle Jets. A Roy O’Donovan strike in the 29th minute was all the game needed as The Jets took all three points for themselves.
The away team are also heading into this one following a loss in their last game. They rolled over when they tackled Perth Glory on Tuesday with the match ending 3-1 in favor of the away side. The goals started raining with only 30 minutes of play left as Perth Glory took the lead in the 60th minute through Ivan Franjic. The Wanderers managed to pull one back three minutes later via Mitchell Duke, however, it wasn’t to be as Neil Kilkenny and James Meredith doubled the lead for their side. This was the first time Jean-Paul de Marigny’s side tasted defeat in four league games.
Western United vs Western Sydney Wanderers Prediction: 1-1
Both sides will be bidding to bounce back from winning ways after disappointing results in their previous games. More often than not, both sides seem to cancel each other out as they both played out a 1-1 draw in their last meeting. We fancy another stalemate given that none of the sides has a particular advantage going into this match.
