The Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in Madrid is the stage for our second last 16 ties on Tuesday as Real Madrid look to preserve their one-goal lead against Gasperini's Atalanta. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.
Remo Freuler's red card in the first half of the first leg tipped the tie in Los Blancos' favour as they were able to dominate the game. The much-needed go-ahead goal came in the second half, however, via a strike from French left-back Ferland Mendy. Los Blancos left Italy with that 1-0 lead and a precious away goal at that.
Feisty encounter on the cards
Real Madrid head into Tuesday's game unbeaten in eight games in all competitions. Although they dropped points in two of their last three league matches, they're still six behind league leaders and local rivals Atletico Madrid. A brilliant brace from Karim Benzema was exactly what they needed in their most recent game at home to Elche as they ran out 2-1 winners.
Atalanta were also winners over the weekend, beating Spezia 3-1 for their fifth win in six Serie A games. Pasalic, with two goals, and Muriel were on the scoresheet as Gasperini and his troops managed to hold on to the 4th spot with Roma and Napoli breathing down their necks.
