Levante did manage to shock Los Rojiblancos at the Metropolitano last season by picking up a 2-0 victory, however, Atletico still hold a clear advantage on the head-to-head side of things with a 18-8 lead after 32 meetings.

Levante still in search of first league win

There were signs of fight from Levante over the weekend against Sevilla as we saw them net thrice - the first time they score at least two goals in a league game since August. However, Sevilla did pick up all three points with five goals of their own, prolonging Levante's wait for their first win in the league this season. Five losses and five draws in 10 league matches mean they're currently in 19th position- their record bettering only Getafe's two-point half- and although it's still early in the season, Levante would need to start racking up the points to avoid a relegation scrap at the end of the campaign.

Atletico Madrid still haven't hit the heights they did last season when they edged Barcelona and Real Madrid to the 2020/2021 LaLiga Santander crown. Although they did manage to fight back from two goals down against league leaders Real Sociedad on Sunday, you'd normally expect a Collo Simeone-coached side to be much better defensively than conceding two on home soil against one of your title challengers. The points earned put them in 4th position behind Real Sociedad, Real Madrid and Sevilla. Would we see them get back to winning ways ?
