Carlo Ancelotti, following his appointment in December 2019, was unable to get the team going with the side struggling for form all through the campaign.

However, Everton are heading into this season with an all-round decent outfit. Carlo Ancelotti has the backing of the Everton board following the addition of Rodriguez, Doucoure, and Allan to the squad. The team is further boosted by a couple of loan-returnees, notably Yannick Bolasie and Sandro Ramirez amongst others.

Over the years, The Spurs always come out atop over the Toffies. The London side has managed eight wins of the last encounter between these opponents. In the previous meeting between the two teams, Spurs ran out 1-0 winners courtesy of a Keane own-goal.
