Before Crystal Palace's shock victory at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, we saw City's dominance in the EFL Cup come to an end after their penalty shootout loss to West ham in the last 16 stage- a game where we saw their eight-match unbeaten run come to an end. We didn't expect this barren spell to last long for the Pep's charges, and it didn't, with the Cityzens beating Club Brugge 4-1 on Wednesday to rise back to the summit of their group in the UEFA Champions League. As mentioned earlier, City haven't won a Manchester Derby in the league since that 2-0 win back in 2019 and a first win since then wouldn't come at a better time with Chelsea and Liverpool set to make the title race one with just two horses.
