Underwhelming Reds in need of a decent run of results
Man United were finally back in action after a COVID-19 enforced break when they went to Tyneside to face struggling Magpies, however, the result didn't do their way as they had to settle for the spoils. In a game where the home side were clearly the better side and the Reds, once again, require De Gea to make a couple of decent saves, Cavani's equalizer cancelled out Saint-Maximin's early strike- the game eventually ending 1-1. As such, Man United still remain in the seventh position and with the race for the top four already getting heated up, Rangnick's charges would need to start racking up the points, most especially against the bottom sides.
With their games against Watford, Aston Villa and Everton getting postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the Clarets would be back in action against Manchester United this Thursday. Although this probably wouldn't be something they would've asked for considering their rustiness-, the break was very much needed with Burnley winning just one of their last 15 league games this season. They were last in action against West Ham in a goalless stalemate at the Turf Moor, picking up their 4th draw in five league games. This poor run of results puts them in 18th place, however, it is to be noted that whilst being level on points with Newcastle and a single point ahead of Norwich City, they've played four games less than both sides. It is then left to see how many points they would rack up in the four outstanding games.

Man United's poor performance against the Magpies mead they head into this one in desperate need of all three points and with the Clarets being out of action since the 12th of December, we expect them to be a tad bit rusty and this should play into the hosts' hands.
