Colombia goes head-to-head with Uruguay this Friday in CONMEBOL World Cup qualification. Having won just one of their two opening games, both teams will be looking to do better as they head into another international break. Feisty encounter on the cards

Neutral fans will certainly be treated to quality football at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez as two top national teams collide. The Colombians saw to a decent start to the qualification stage copping four points from two matches. In their most recent game, they needed a 90th-minute equalizer to get a point away at Chile. Carlos Quieroz and his troops will be keen on getting all three points so as to keep up with league leaders.

Uruguay, on the other hand, started quite well with the 2-1 win at home to Chile. A late strike from Maxi Gomez proved to be the decider as they registered their first win. They capitulated in their following game away at Ecuador as they were on the losing end of a six-goal thriller. As at the 75th minute, the home side had already gone 4-0 up, pretty much rounding up the game. Suarez scored two goals at the end of the game which served as a consolation for his side. This would be their first loss since that penalties loss against Peru in last year's Copa America and as such, they would be looking to get back to winning ways.
