Chicago Fire vs New England Revolution Predictions and Betting Tips
The Soldier Field in Chicago is the stage for this highly-anticipated encounter in the MLS as Chicago Fire and New England Revolution lock horns this Thursday. Read on for our expert tips and predictions.
On the head-to-head side of things, both sides head into this game on level terms having won six each in their last 17 encounter- the remaining five ending in stalemates. both sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their most recent game. Would we see one of the teams take this game by the scruff of the neck this time around ?
Chicago Fire deep in the trenches
It hasn't been the best campaign for Chicago Fire as they head into this game with bettering the points tally of just two teams. A record of 14 losses in 25 games so far would certainly mean they would find themselves at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and having conceded 40 goals in the league so far- the joint-third worst defensive record in the MLS- we don't see Raphael Wicky's troops smiling come the end of the season. They welcome the Revs to Chicago having lost all of their last three league matches against Sporting Kansas City, DC United and then most recently to CF Montreal. A 2-0 defeat against the Montreal-based side didn't come as a surprise and this also makes it three games without a goal in the MLS.
The high-flying Revs have had a completely different season in the MLS with the side boasting a 15-point lead at the summit of the Eastern Conference. Although they've played two games more than Nashville SC who are in second place, they've secured 17 wins in 26 league matches scoring 48 goals in the process. They were held by Columbus Crew to a 1-1 draw by Columbus Crew last time out in a game where they had five times as many shots as their opponents. Although they would feel hard done by, we expect them to be keen on getting back to full speed with a win this Thursday.
Chicago Fire vs New England Revolution Prediction: 0-2
Chicago fire heads into this game not at their brilliant best and with the Revs pretty much running through the Eastern Conference this season, we expect the visitors to pick up a routine victory as they get back to winning ways.
