Highly-anticipated encounter on the cards
Brazil, the hosts and tournament favourites, were too good in their first three games of the group stage as they went on to win all three games. However, they dropped points against Ecuador in their final group game with both sides playing out a 1-1 stalemate. Nonetheless, we still expect them to be a tough nut to crack going forward given the talent embedded in the side.
The odds are stacked against the Chileans as they head into this quarterfinals matchup. They would surely know how that feels as most people didn’t tip them to beat Argentina in those two Copa America finals in 2015 and 2016. La Roja finished 4th in the group stage with five points from their four group games. Last time out, they were downed by Paraguay who recorded a 2-0 victory. Chile is faced with a huge mountain to climb at the Estádio Nilton Santos as they go up against a highly superior Brazil side.
