Even though the Gunners have been in fine form of late, they’re coming off the back of a 2-1 North London derby loss to Tottenham. The Champions, on the other hand, had their perfect home record dented by Burnley in a 1-1 draw last weekend. They struck in the first half via a bullet header from Andrew Robertson. This lead was cancelled out by a 69th minute Jay Rodriguez strike thereby sealing a point for his side.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side having already secured the league title, the immediate objective is surpassing Manchester City’s record of a 100 points in a season. The Reds looked well on their way to achieve this feat before the lockdown was enacted but have been a little off the pace since the restart, dropping points against Everton, Manchester City and of recent, Burnley. This has made breaking the record a little more difficult as they would have to win all of their remaining matches. The odds are on them securing the nine points with their electric, fast-paced football.
Alexander Lacazette is expected to start the match on Wednesday night as he’s looking to boost his current goal scoring form of two goals from the previous three. Arsenal, however, has a slightly long injury list with Gabriel Martinelli, Callum Chambers, Bernd Leno and Pablo Mari out, through injuries. The Reds will play Wednesday’s game without Skipper Jordan Henderson who’s injured for the rest of the season.
