West Ham May Keep the Betway Sponsorship

West Ham May Keep the Betway Sponsorship
Despite being compelled to part ways with Betway as a front-of-shirt sponsor at the conclusion of the current shirt sponsorship arrangement at the end of the 2024–2025 season, West Ham could keep them on as a big sponsor.
This has been quite a busy few years for Betway, as it not only made new partnerships but also expanded its reach. New Jersey was the first US State where Betway launched its product in October 2021 by entering into the Golden Nugget Casino partnership. After that, Betway also made its debut in Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, and Virginia.
West Ham’s Partnership with Betway
The Premier League will voluntarily phase out gambling company front jersey advertising over the course of the next three years, but sleeve sponsorship will still be up for business. To make up for the shortfall, companies will be willing to pay exorbitant prices for sleeve sponsorship arrangements, and Betway will be in a good position to snag the Hammers' deal when the existing agreement with Scope Markets ends.
Even if the Premier League unilaterally bans gaming and a government white paper on gambling is issued, West Ham may continue to sell pitch side advertising, stadium sponsorship, and perhaps the naming rights to the London Stadium to gambling businesses like Betway if they so want. The Hammers reportedly receive £10 million annually from Betway, but they may continue to get more from the online bookies if they sell their front-of-shirt sponsorship to a company not associated with gaming.
Since 2015, Betway has been the primary associate of West Ham United. All of the senior teams' uniforms and playing jerseys contain the Betway logo on the front. Additionally, West Ham and Betway have collaborated to bring fans and their idols closer together, fostering lifelong experiences. West Ham has many passionate football fans, not only locally, but all across the world. The prolongation of the deal may provide the fans with some exciting betting options down the line.
How West Ham’s Partnership with Betway Came to Be
West Ham was previously sponsored by the Swiss corporation Alpari before switching to Betway. However, Alpari entered insolvency at the beginning of 2015, leaving the London-based team without any kind of sponsor. However, West Ham did not take long to agree to a three-and-a-half-year, £20 million contract with Betway, which was to become West Ham's largest-ever business agreement. For context, let's say that the contract they had with Alpari was worth £3 million annually.
West Ham's vice-chair Karen Brady made the announcement of the partnership and said that while they had other possibilities, they chose Betway because of their ambition and forward-thinking nature, qualities that match those of West Ham. She continued by saying that the desire to partner with them by a major sports betting website like Betway was proof of how important West Ham is growing in the football world.
What, therefore, makes Betway such a significant sportsbook with millions of consumers from over the globe? They provide a good number of markets for all the sports that are featured on their website. When it comes to sports betting, variety is crucial since it keeps things interesting and prevents you from becoming bored. And Betway has that in spades.
